wow, We finally finished the out side of our pantry! WOOW HOOOO.
We started this project this past summer hoping to have it done in two weeks before our nieces came to visit well that didn’t happen and it turned out to be a larger project that we anticipated. but non the less it is done.
Here is Mer’s write up from her Tumbleweed page on FB
“Pantry makeover reveal!!! Just a few more finishing touches (like hardwood floors…) and we will be pantry complete. For now, a short story on how this lovely pantry came to be…
Summer 2017. Messy cabinet pantry that is nearly 3 ft deep and impossible to keep organized. Everything came out….I decided I just couldn’t stand the thought of putting any of it back. That day we drew our plans, bought supplies and began our 6 month journey.
I knew I wanted a pantry I could step into, shelves, a counter on each side, and an easy to find canned food area. I wanted a unique look, a farmhouse feel and a barn door.
The nearly complete pantry has interior lighting, outlets, a swing out spice rack, hand painted and weathered planks, galvanized metal trim, a custom vent/pipe grow lamp, small exterior herb garden and a beautiful $5 Pantry door treasure with a chalkboard.
I am in love. Handy hubs is amazing and this project was so much fun!
Now for the rest of the kitchen…”
That’s the jist of it but this weekend in particular we fished the pantry door and got it hung. Mer did a chalk paint int eh center with Alabaster white around the edges, we found the hardware for the hangers at Hobby Lobby and the wheels are from garage door supplies
HEres some pictures of our progress
