Today, June 3rd 2016 is National Doughnut Day!!!!!! oh and Friday Wahooo!
So my wife and I are were heading into work this morning getting ready to pass by the local Salvation Army church when traffic comes to a dead stop, and cars from the left hand lane were trying to move over to the right. I’m thinking what the hell is going on? Then I see a bunch of orange cones and people standing in the middle of the street holding signs. I thought it may be a protest of some sort. Nope, It was Salvation Army Volunteers handing out free Doughnuts! and Boy were they good. I of course being diabetic was only able to have one bite but it was truly amazing.
The label says: Did you know…. Donut Gals Guys from the Salvation Army started accompanying our troops in WW1 providing meals, church services and hope to those on the front lines. Now, almost 100 years later, we are passing out nearly 3,000 donuts in Cheyenne and millions more across America!
