Noah had an art project over the past month, his class made sarcophagus. His class has been studying ancient Egypt and coordinated with the art teacher project. I like his creativity and the colors. If you look closely at the body there are snakes and birds stamped into the sides. I think he gets his artistic ability from my wife, I hope he pursues it and develops it. He is actually pretty good at drawing.
So this little sculpture reminds me of visiting the Denver Museum of Natural History ( now called Denver Museum of Nature and Science) when I was about his age they had the mummy of King Tutankhamun displayed, I thought that was really a neat thing. Consequently the class is taking a field trip to the same museum to see a Mummy display of two women from Ancient Egypt. I hope he enjoys it as much as I did!
