This plaque is placed in one of the parks in Cheyenne to remember the people that lost there lives in the flood of 1985. Six years after an F3 tornado devastated our town. I was just 10 years old. (30 years ago)
My Family and I were in Jackson when we got the news of the flood. My dad was a insurance agent for Farm Bureau. and as soon as we got word we had to head back to Cheyenne so he could start to process claims. we were in an ol 1979 Ford Bronco pulling a trailer behind us. we made it home in record time I think about 6 hours. Good news was our house and our other family houses weren’t harmed and neither was our family.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and their family’s of this natural disaster.
