Cheyenne Frontier Days 2015, Family Visit

So this is some what becoming a tradition, where my wife and I go an pick up my nieces in Nebraska and bring then to our house for Cheyenne Frontier Days. ( added 800 miles to our traveling this year oh wait 1000, we went to Denver too).

Been a fun week so far picked up the kids on Saturday and went over to there Aunt’s house for dinner. Went home and got everyone settled in and went to bed.

Pirates CoveGot up early the next morning and headed down to Denver to a neighborhood water park called Pirates Cove. It’s a neat little place. Has a a few big slides, a lazy river, a giant kids area (splash park) and a decent size swimming pool with diving boards and such. We stayed there for about 5 hours had a good Lunch, My Nephews Dad met us there and hung out for the day and the we headed to Casa Bonita for dinner.

Casa BonitaThis place has been around for ever it, at least 30 years. Still the same mediocre food and expensive entertainment. Bit all in all the kids had a good time and that is all that maters right?

Kids went swimming again here at home to the mall, to the Indian village watched 22 Jump street as a family.

CFD Pancake breakfast lineWednesday was Cheyenne Day. My wife and I ( in line in the photo) took our youngest and our two Nieces to the pancake breakfast in downtown Cheyenne. This a event that involves several groups from our community including The Boy Scouts, National Guard, and Kiwanis club of Cheyenne. It is actually a training program to see how fast and efficiently the community groups can feed the masses in case of a Local/national disaster or emergency. (read more here). Anyway took us about an hour to get through the line. My son and i had to leave for an appointment though so I never got any pancakes.

That night we went to the Carnival out at Frontier Park. Of course there was expensive beer, sub par carnival food and of course Funnel Cakes. A Staple that must be purchased every year.

We spent a lot of money on armbands ( that let you ride all the rides) food and carnival games. but again, everyone had a great time and that’s what it is all about right?
